Navigating challenges in life can leave one feeling exhausted, stressed, and alone. Anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and negative self-talk can make it difficult to move forward, but you don't have to face these struggles on your own. Pathways Counseling is here for you.
I am Amy Amico, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree from the Indiana University School of Social Work providing counseling to adolescents, adults and older adults in the Indianapolis area. I have completed advanced training and credentialing in counseling and psychotherapy and uphold the professional standards and best practices of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
I support clients as they navigate stages of life and issues around grief and loss, depression, anxiety and panic attacks, caregiving, trauma, and those on the journey of adoption and foster care. When appropriate, I incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for trauma and other mental health needs.
My approach to counseling is collaborative, holistic, and tailored to your readiness to change. Together, we will explore how your past experiences, current relationships, and daily environments influence your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We will identify meaningful treatment goals, monitor your progress, and develop practical strategies that promote healing, resiliance, and lasting growth. My hope is that you will leave each session feeling genuinely heard, understood, and equipped with tools to move forward with confidence and hope.
Life’s challenges can leave you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. Anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and major transitions can be difficult to navigate alone. Pathways Counseling is here for you.
I am James, and I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College Graduate School. I provide compassionate counseling to children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I support clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, and spiritual struggles. Depending on each client’s needs, I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, ACT, IFS, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
Recognizing that every individual is created with inherent worth and purpose, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate life's challenges, heal from past hurts, strengthen relationships, and grow emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I believe true healing involves caring for the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. I tailor treatment to each client’s needs, goals, strengths, and readiness for change. When welcomed by the client, I thoughtfully integrate biblical truth and Christian faith while maintaining a clinically sound, ethical, and respectful approach.
My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and grace-filled environment where you feel seen, heard, and valued as we work toward meaningful, lasting growth.
